The horror stories continue!!!!

I bet the LFS didn't even take the anemone I brought in and try to save him...I bet they walked into the back room and flushed it.

Poor guy, I feel bad but what can a newbie do?

 

+1 for ultimately doing the right thing. Even if the LFS flushed it, you probably saved a lot of fish and the hassle of dealing with a dead nem later on.

As for what can a noob do, that's easy and applies not only to fish keeping but pretty much every other hobby you'll ever take up: read, research, learn, study. Ask questions, get multiple opinions, and favor the side of caution early on.

Saw the anemone in the store today...he looks like he is getting used to being there..although he is still only like 1.5 inches big..haha

 

I am SOOOOOO glad you did this. I was worried you would try to keep it. Best left in the sea they are. Remember, you are new and need to learn the ropes, so whatever feels uncomfortable, avoid. Later on, if you want something that will kill a tank in a blink of an eye, but is easier to keep, try a Sea Apple. Here is a pic of mine.......

Yeah, saw one o those babies in the store as well, I sat there for awhile and watched the hairy stuff going in and out of it's hole(mouth?). I t was purrrrdddyyyy!
