There is also a bubble tip in there which still seems to be doing OK. It's a 29 gallon biocube. any ideas on how to get the salinity up a little without spiking it? It's such a small tank, and the up & down may kill my featherstar so I need to be real careful.

 

If you have a bowl or bucket large enough for the nem, a heater and air stone, then it may be worth a try. I just wouldn't leave it in the tank.

When you top off your tank from evap do it with salt water and monitor it daily.That is how I always did it.

I admire your unwillingness to just "have done" with this
Take it out, try and keep it going, don't forget to feed it, but beware of the environment size and lack of filtration
