Stay away from the long tentacle anemone. I am dealing with one now. It grew way too fast and is too big for a tank of that size. Now it obscures a third of my tank and if I were to ever place corals it moves every now and then and would probably sting them. Think hard about this decision, if I had it to do over again I would have tried to get my clown to host in some type of smaller, more stationary soft coral. Just my .02

Just ensure that your lighting is appropriate for an anemone, and that your tank has matured long enough to have one. I would suggest waiting at LEAST 6 months, and on top of that, to make sure that your water params don't fluctuate too much. It is easier to keep one in a 75 or 90gal aquarium than a 24 gal, not just because of size, but more because of less fluctuation in the water chemistry.

I personally would refrain from purchasing one of these delicate animals! Though they are beautiful and enjoyable, not to mention the ambiance they add to CERTAIN marine aquariums, they are best left to dedicated, expert aquarists who have better credentials in terms of lighting, water parameter issues and water flow, not to mention a larger sized tank in which human error can be somewhat downgraded to some extent allowing these flowers of the sea a better chance of success.
Please, stick to the plethora of equally pleasing and hardier animals that will enable you to be a more effective and conscientious aquarist!!!!
Not to say that in the future, an anemone wouldn't be a welcomed addition with more experience and better techniques, and individual husbandry requirements.
If you do decide not to heed my advice, may I suggest the Flower/rock anemone from the Caribbean!!! They are smaller in size and the requirements are not as stringent as many of the other species such as Stichodactyla or Heteractis!

Do you still plan on getting an anemone?
