I currently run a 125 mixed reef. I have a large Majestic (that has a taste for zoas, frogspawn, and shrooms) and a Flame (occasionly picks at LPS). The two never fight. I also had a Coral Beauty in the mix. He never picked at anything. All 3 angels got along beautifuly. Something to see when they all swam side by side. However, a few days ago I lost the Coral Beauty. I have not been able to determine the cause or reason. He simply quit eating and then died 3 days later. I recently went to a LFS and spotted a pair of BEAUTIFUL Potters angels. I've been waiting for the right opportunity to get one. Question; are Potters angels typically reef safe or are they like all angels and a gamble at best? #2..considering my 2 current angels never show any aggression towards eachother nor towards the Coral Beauty will I have a fight on my hands if I add the Potters? I understand Flames can get nasty. I would like any and all thoughts on this. Thanks

well if they all lived happily why not add these to the mix when one passes. Have a fuge though, potters like to eat algae and pods IIRC.

This is kind of what I was thinking. The Potters have the similar body shapes to the Coral Beauty. In the past, my experience has been same body shape=fight. The Flame is a different body shape compared to the two. So I believe this to be a plus. However, again I have concerns over the Flame getting nasty. Ive heard they have a reputation for being mean.

Anybody else have any thoughts on adding a Potters with my Flame and Majestic. I do not think the Majestic will give it a second look. But I am worried how the Flame will take it.

Can you put both potters angels in your tank? I would have thought that would be a problem in itself.

Yes you can. Especially if they are a pair. Not sure if this is the case but the Potters usually is a docile fish to begin with. The Flame however can be down right nasty. Hence my concern with adding the Potters.

Idk if I'd do it personally. You've heard right about the flames, but you never know, considering it's been docile before. Were the flame and the coral beauty added together initially? I've only mixed angels when adding at once... you'd be braver than I to try. Course I suppose if you do give it a go, you could try to catch em if there is aggression. Easier said than done, but it could be an option :/

Potters are typically reef safe, some caution advised, as all fish are not the same. You can add Angels together as long as they are not from the same family. Pygmy Angels being the difference. And unless you plan on adding a mated pair of Potters, i'd say your looking for trouble.
