    I've done good bit of reading and everything covers how good it is to have a refugium. But what I was wondering is having just a 55g with the below specs is it really necessary to have?

    Put it this wat it cant hurt!!
    But in a FOWLR it is not that necessary to have IMO however you could use a bit more live rock in there ,
