    Thats what i thought. I removed a wet/dry trickle filter w/ bio balls, am i doing right by keeping the salinity low while the sump and skimmer break-in?

    i dont think it makes too much of a difference in your case, except when adding new fish(provided proper aclimitation, which you do). your water quality seems good.


    oh did you say if you had a ground probe or not?

    Planning on my next purchase to be RO/DI filter so I can quit buying water.

    in saltwater do to the great amount of equipment we have. we are more prone to voltage leaks for any electrical equipment in the tank.

    a electric current in the water will stress most saltwater animals out alot and cause unexplained deaths.

    just because it doesnt shock you doesnt mean its not there you need a voltage meter to check, but its a good preventive measure. whether its a faulty pump or a puffer gets curious about the long black worm coming from the back of a powerhead(has happened before probe probably saved the whole tank).

    online you can get them for 10 or 15 bucks

    ooohhhh reeaaallllly. i never made that connection while researching sump designs, I mean all the "probe holders" with 3 or 4 holes in them. yeah, i guess i should get one.
