nonono. get a female and you will be fine. if you want a male, you need at least 3 females with it because the male will split his aggression between them.

Well arent female anthias not as bright and colorful? Also, dont the females just turn into males if they are alone?

One anthias by itself won't cause any aggression from it. I recently added a female lyretail and she gave no problems. Was a little scared but my clowns an wrasse gave no aggression. I since also added a male and the two of them have grown to be my favorite fish. Wrasses are fun but the anthias have a funny behaviour. The couple I have never swim more than 6 inches from each other. Its quite fun to watch. My vote is for the ànthias.

Yellowish orange is female, the male is the pink.
Yes to one male. But I'd start with a female, less of a temper than the hubby.

haha that is the question you must answer!i would say go with the wrasse still, personally, i would say that because a lone M/F pair of anthias could be bad news..the example given from nc, (a truly awesome one btw;D), may be the exception, as i would worry about the aggression towards the lone female..and if im not mistaken, i think the wrasse would certainly hold its' own in your tank, and would be able to cope with the aggression just fine. just my .02, and good luck!8)

I have 1 female in my tank and she is the least aggressive of all the fish i have ever had! Go with a wrasse and a female anthias!
