I found this is a pile of "live rock rubble" that I used for starter in my fuge. It opens and closes thru the day, so I moved it over to the main tank with t5 + halides, but its at the bottom until I can figure out how much light it needs. Anybody know what this is? Thanks in advance!;D

Those are zoanthids! A Octocoral(soft coral) species that come in many different sizes, skirt lengths and colors. They are very hardy, easy to maintain and spread prolifically under optimal conditions. Care needs to be given when handling these animals since they contain a toxic compound that could potentially make you very sick if you were to handle these and then touch your eyes or put your hands near or in your mouth.
A moderate water flow and moderate to intense light is best! The light intensity and kelvin of your bulbs will alter the color of each and every species of zoanthid.
These are a very beautiful coral...just be careful when placing these in your tank as, again, they can grow quickly and overtake other corals etc. They are easy to frag however, so the ability to move these is fairly easy!
Congrats and good luck to you on your find and your tanks success!

thanks to all. i've now moved it up to the top for more light exposure. hope it does well.
the sand's clean because its new- i got sick of the dirty gravel bottom that i started with, so i've been putting down some sand in the front part of the tank. the hermits seem to really like it, as they're out and about alot more now.

Is it bryopsis or just common green hair algae? There's a big difference that will affect answers. I would hit the link I gave you and see if you can ID it there. Can you get a (better) pic of it? That would help alot.
