I am currently using a Hitachi 24v cordless drill. It has been acting up lately and I think it's about to die. I've had good luck with it over the years, but am thinking of switching brands. I like the Dewalt's for power and reliablity, but not for price. What are you guys using? Milwaukee, porter cable, ect... The new Kobalt line looks tempting!

    Thanks.

Generally at work we use Dewalts. Recently I have been seeing a lot of milwaukees, I've used a few of them and like them. Not sure on price. Batteries lasted well, charged quickly. Comfortable in the hand so use for long periods isn't so bad. I'd recommend them.

I should not the ones I used were the new li-ion batteries, not sure on the 14v or 18v.

Running the new li-ion batteries, 18v. holds up longer between charges.

Dewalt for battery tools...like ecotech, expensive but worth every penny.

Milwaukee for power tools. Heavy duty, rarely had problems.

    Ingersol-Rand for pneumatic.

    Klein and craftsman handtools.

Agreed, aside from hand tools. Snap-on and Mac personally. Imo craftsman is garbage, disposable hand tools.

Home depot's brand Ridged makes some nice cordless tools. They are way better than Kobalt stuff... with a lifetime battery replacement too! Ridgid is made by milwaukee.

For a drill I usually just use black and Decker. I know what your thinking, but I have seen them on sale at Walmart for $20. At that price they only have to last 1/10 the time of a dewalt and I have not had any problems. They don't have much power even being 18v but its good enough for home use.

I decided years ago to go with all Dewalt for cordless. I did construction work for quite a while, and still have all of the original tools. Still use most of them with the current business that I own. Recently upgrade to 18 volt lithium batteries, which work in all of them except the vac. There are other good brands, but I have no regrets going with Dewalt. Not expensive in my mind. I have many other tools, but most of my cordless are Dewalt.

    In cordless I have:

    2 drills
    Drywall driver
    Flashlight
    Impact driver (sweet tool)
    Circular saw
    Vacuum cleaner
    Sawzall

    Corded:

    Circular saw
    10" tile saw
    Angle grinder

For fragging, I have a Milwaukee rotary tool with a diamond blade. MUCH better than a Dremel.
