    My parents live out in the twigs, there was no power lines near there house. Power company wanted over 30k to run the lines, they went solar for about 20k. They are totally off the grid. They will never have a power bill, and when the power goes out for everyone else they still have the lights on.

    Maybe my next house, only "PLAN" on living in this one for about another 5 years or so. Until that time I guess I will keep looking for ways to save energy! Got the whole house converted to CFL's, ceiling fans, only do laundry at night, looking into adding more insulation in the attic and eventually do a tankless water heater! Any other good ideas?

    Most places will only buy back energy fronm hospitals and places similiar
