Anyone taken the GRE?

My girlfriend is applying to get into physical therapy school and has to take the GRE tomorrow. She's completely freaking out because she only had around a week to prepare (long story). Is it THAT bad? She's pretty smart and always underestimates herself so I think she'll do fine, but some reassurance would help.

 

GRE is a pretty demanding test. Standard you'll want to prepare for it is at least 3-4 months. It effectively tests everything you should have learned over 4 years of college. If she's sharp though she shouldn't have a problem. It wasn't too bad but the amount of material it covers is colossal.

 

i would tell her that a week is more than enough time to prepare, and dont let her ready that last post...lol

 

well if shes mad smart like 4.0 w/o even batting an eye, then yea its easy... otherwise its mad hard :/

 

haha yeah I'll leave what bergeron said out of any conversation i have with her between now and tomorrow at 9.

 

Agree with all of the above. Give her lots of positive reinforcement between now and then and if she is down afterward, she can usually take it again.

It's a hard test....

It just sucks that if she doesn't make the required score (1100 i believe)..she has to wait to apply again the next year..but she has a backup plan for what to do until that time comes so we'll just see what happens.

 

Well she didn't make it. She needed a 500 on both parts. Made a 510 on the first and a 400 something on the second. She's pretty bummed..but I think she did awesome considering her circumstances. I'm sure she'll get it next time.

 

yeah, if she can prepare for it she wont have a problem

 

Well that stinks. Did she have a good back up plan?
