I use both the phosphate and the alkalinity checkers and find them to be as good as other test kits regarding the +/- considerations. There were some problems with the alkalinity checker, specifically the reagent. However, it seems Hanna has addressed this earlier problem by offering a liquid reagent as an up-grade kit for this checker.

Is this a better way to check or just easy and it makes it better?

It's more accurate (even than titration tests), and is easier. It's a two in one deal.

The price per test is comparable to a regular test kit, if you don't include the higher startup cost for the checker itself.
