Not bad... the one thing I did notice is the lack of individual polished aluminum, parabolic reflectors. The one big advantage to T5 is the narrow bulbs that not only allow more to fit over your tank, but also allow the parabolic reflectors to maximize pointing the light downward, from all sides of the bulb. Not bad though...

Here's another option, although currently it's out of stock. This setup does include polished aluminum parabolic reflectors. It's only $112, to boot.

Hi jandree, it does say "A highly-polished internal reflector maximizes light distribution while water- maybe you missed that. I thought like you "not bad" for the price. I already have the one you mentioned on there now with 2 power brite strips, this one would be in addition to the others.

This usually just means 1 reflector. The best fixtures have individual reflectors for each bulb.

Haven't heard anything bad about Hagen. Most of my research has been done on the Current brands of lighting as well as Teks. Looks solid enough.

2 things that turned me off from buying one is the bulbs that come with it don't come in 10,000k, 50/50,actinic or 50/50.they come with odd k for reef bulbs.i suspect they were desinged for planted aquariums.they seem very nicely built but i don't think 4 bulbs will fit over a 12inch aquarium like a 20,29,or 55 gallon tank has.2 doubles will

Yeah I didn't even read the description. In a T5 setup, the reflectors are the most important determining factor if a particular setup is good or not... they should be polished aluminum, and individually parabolic for each bulb. The reflector in the pic obv isn't individual parabolic reflectors, and it looked white, which isn't nearly as reflective. But alas you are correct... they're polished aluminum and the lit bulb just made them look white, my mistake. Admittedly, the setup I posted is pretty much the same thing, still doesn't have individual reflectors, but it's at least a few bucks cheaper and comes with better Kelvin bulbs as Ziggy mentioned. They will restock it.
Sure he did. This doesn't have individual reflectors, which are what you want in a quality T5 setup. To clear any confusion, it was basically a negative review.
