Make sure you watch them now that it's all gone, they may decide they're still hungry and move to coral. You may want to try to remove them once you're sure that it's all eaten just in case and just monitor and blast with Kalk or boiling water. Up to you though. I enjoy the boiling water method cause I just cackle with glee as they boil alive then toss their dead body back into the water for my cleaner shrimp to eat. He doesn't eat live ones but he loves him some hard boiled Aptasia.

you may want to get some aiptasia x to have on hand so that as you see one or two pop up you can inject them immediately!! This brand also usually comes with the injector!!

Get a Harlequin Shrimp. Very cool looking. I'm trying to populate my tank with those starfish just so I can get one. They will eat those starfish

Wait wait wait…..you can’t post that something is “aptasia everywhere” without pictures !! isn’t that like an unwritten rule !

Ok – so my two cents….the peppermint shrimp are hit and miss – but red legged hermits will hit every time.

I have never been a fan of the injection methods. I am concerned that when they pop due to aptasia x, joes juice, or boiling water that not all the spores are dead. I keep 5 peppermint shrimp in my fuge for when I see aptasia.

Aptasia don't pop and release sporse do they? That sounds like bubble algae to me.

Aptasia reproduce by severing a small bit of tissue...at least that was always my thought. So killing it would kill the tissue and there would be no repoducing via poppage... no ?

    BTW....nice avatar !

I thought they also had spores in the body. And if they are not dead by the time the aptasia juice causes the aptasia to pop it will spread.

Aiptasia end up making polyps the moment they're stressed. And if a single cell of it survives, it can grow into a full aiptasia.
