I hope I do not sound too stupid with this question, but here it goes. Do apstasia flourese (?) under actinics? I have what I thought were three large apstasia on a rock with zenia. That was until a visit to a lfs here in Phoenix. They had a coral that looked like what I thought was apstasia.Later that night when the daylight bulbs went off I noticed that the "apstasia" glowed green. I will try to get pics for a easier ID.

If it is a majano, it is a pest.

I just found out Aiptasias are pests, I thought they were a plant among the rocks. So much to learn with my new tank. Will they return after I kill with Joes Juice?

Aiptasia are very hearty. I have not had good luck with using any liquid prep. I move the rock to a quarantine tank loaded with pepermint shrimp. When the rock is cleaned of the pests return it to the main tank. I keep my shrimp hungry, so when they see anysort of aiptasia they go nuts. Usually only takes a day or two for all to be gone. Hope this helps.

If you can get to them to drop this into their disk it will kill them right on the spot you have to mix it and cook it a bit in a micro wave if interested I'll post it for you to kill the aptasias off. You will need some Kalk and black pepper and a dash of cayenne pepper and Texas Pete or some hot sauce like that Tabasco either or and a syringe to feed it to them . They will eat it like candy turm purple/black and die right there on the spot..
