It all depends on what you want it to do. Most of them have your basic temp, pH, ORP...along with your light cycles. You can find good deals on the Neptune series (aquacontroller), as they come with the DC4/8 which is like their own power strip (i'm sure you've seen it), along with the necessary probes and such. But if you want functionality, I would definitely go with a Reefkeeper. There a bit on the pricy side, but totally worth it. It does so much.

I have an Aquacontroller Jr. It has temp and pH probes with it. It will run quite a bit of stuff, but is limited if you have a complicated system. If you want to monitor tank pH and run a calcium reactor with effuent pH control, you should think about a bigger model. I have my Jr. running my DT light, fuge light and moonlight. I hae all my powerheasd connected to my DC8, but have them constantly on and not wavemaker mode. Hint, Koralias draw too little AC current for it to run properly in wavemaker mode. For my 150G tank (if I can ever get that darn fungus eliminated), then I will be getting a more flexible unit, like the AC3 or AC3 Pro, or a Reefkeeper or Aquadyne.
Decide what you want your controller for, what you want to control, both now and down the road, and we can help you figure out what suits you best. :)

The things I would like to control is a calcium reactor, I guess since I have korilias that is our of the question for wavemaker mode. I want to control ph, temp, Lights, and fans in the canopy I just ordered. I also travel alot so I would like to be able to check in on the unit via internet to check up. I am also adding an auto top off so that would be good to stop also. Othere then that I am not going to have ozone even though I thought about it I dont see that going on this tank.

As of my last vist to digital aquatics website the reefkeeper elite was not able to connect to the internet however it was being worked on. As for the unit itself they are great and i couldnt imagine not having a controller now that i have one.
