Hi, I was hoping for some advise on what lights to buy at the moment i have 1 marine white and one blue T8 but want to upgrade. I really like the shimmer effect that some people have on their tanks but LEDs are so expensive..

I was thinking about getting a Hagen Glo unit T5 white and blue and then perhaps a few aquabeam LED strips, would this be suitable for soft corals such as zoas and star polyps? Does anyone else have the Glo ballasts for their tank?
    any help is appreciated
    thanks

What size is your tank? You need high output T5's.

depending on your expenses you could use a single metal halide. but the grow bulbs i don't think will work for you.

I have them and love them. I had one on a ten gallon which i have since moved to a 56 and purchased 2 more. I wouldn't recommend hagen bulbs tho. I have ati, uvl, and guiesmann in mine and I have sps, lps, and softies.
