    I've got $10 that I can put up :)

You can make up the other $9,990 right ? I like that idea for the computer as a controller.

I got one of these: LightHouse Aquarium Controller and it is sweet. Can make changes from any internet connection. Bunch of features for the price.
    This would be my vote!

oh well I guess i have outgrown the REEFKEEPER 2. The pH monitoring is pretty useless, has never worked and digital aquatics keeps telling me that they are coming out with a fix, 12 months and stil no fix. They did recently come out with the PC monitoring software, but it is really basic and still no control or programing from the PC. Waited too long for the web control and had one or two accidents that could of been avoided. The lack of specific control is also a problem. Im upgrading to an ACiii, i think it will be while before i outgrow this one. If controllers were cars i think the RK2 would be a GEO metro. Nothing wrong with it, but its functions are limited.

As a Owner of the ReefKeeper 2. I will say that it works for the basic level of control I needed. Maintains the temperature turning on a fan to cool the water turning on the heater to warm it. That alone was worth the whole purchase. As for the PC component I havent hooked it up but it did seem very shabby. Cant hook it up because its a serial cable? who does serial cables? Dont have the Ph controller. Was thinking of buying it but if k9BOLX is right i guess i will avoid it. But as crazy as it is this thing is about the cheapest reliable light timer/temperature monitor available.

update, I have been struggling with the RK2. I decided to wait untill the new tank was up and running before investing in the AC3. digitalaquatics have released their update for the RK2. It involves you purchasing more products. Firstly they toild me I needed the splitter, which i purchased. The pH meter still had a mind of its own, and the temp could still not be used with the serial connection. Then they told me that i need a ground isolater (another $20 +S&H). It really is a shame that they do not refine this product, it really could be a great cheap product, instead it now simply acts as a timer and temp controller. It does that really well mind, but dont expect anymore. Most of the other systems, AC, Aquatronica give you the option to control remotely so consider that also.
At the begining of this poll (many months ago) it seemed that alot of you have the RK2. What is everyone elses view of this product? did I just get a bad one?

i have the neptune aquacontroller jr. and i love it. i was trying to use a software paired with a computer to get the job done but it just wasn't working out and it involved me paying just as much as just going out and buying the real thing. so i did, the x10 hasn't failed me since i set it up.
