I've been lucky so far. I won't be adding anymore fish till I get qt going. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Just painful cause I knew better. I trusted this new place that the fish were in QT. I dread getting home in a hour and see what else has passed. My Yellow Tang and Desjardini have already survived one bout of this. I'm praying they pull through this one.

I think you can blame your LFS as well as the other guys. They should know who to trust vs. who they don't know about.

Guess it's a sign to get rid of it. Brook is everywhere! What I'm curious about is how does the LFS not have Brook but once you get it hole you do?

I have 3 fish in my 100g. But I'm working on my tank everyday. I'm kinda getting to the point where id like to not spend as much time. I'm not into corals now and I do dip and QT them. Right now for my adding fish is too risky. I lost everything to ick and now that my tank is stable it's coral from now one. Maybe :)

    Sorry buddy.

Hey what job pulls you away for 3 months at a time? My wife would leave me.... Hey wait a second... You guys hiring?!
    :) I kid I kid

Thanks guys and gal.. As of this morning what is left is still alive. I don't get the brooklynella thing either. All the bannerfish looked perfectly fine for the first few days, then I noticed the discoloration on their skin and whammo.

To answer Ballgames question: I used to be a disaster housing inspector for FEMA up until 2011. I left because of all the gov't drama involving Katrina and us inspectors out in the field taking the brunt of all the negativity the higher ups created. Anyway, State Farm contacted me to become an Insurance Adjuster and they also have a separate "disaster relief" team for tragedies that become disaster areas. So it's the best of both worlds, I work for State Farm not FEMA. I'll be a regular inspector during the months there are no disasters then travel for up to three months at a time when needed. Right now they are up in Kalamazoo Michigan.

CB Surfer, I fell for you. Thank you for posting because I myself who lost a tank to Brook months ago and now months later finding myself getting a little lazy in QTing and good hygiene around the tanks. I will now go back to VERY dilegent pratices. wish you the best of luck in your recovery. Hey, as a side note, as you, I think we are the few that had a little success with the Quick Cure for brook, I managed to save a sailfin tang with it
