No not the "probe" and extraterrestrial gives you ;D
but the kind that will fit in an pH / ORP or whatever monitor....(I'm especially asking if salinity "probes" are all the same) ...I've owned a pinpoint pH but no clue about other brands and/or if they all are interchangeable

Reason I'm asking is because that Reefkeeper lite intrigues me and since I'm certain to buy a pH monitor $ wavemaker, I'm seeing the value here....

hey BTW, any body got any direct experience on that thingy (reefkeeper lite that is)

From my research neptune system is higher upfront cost but about the same in the end with all the modules.I feel like you get more features and ease of use with the neptune apex/apex lite.as far as probes aquacave said they are standardized and interchangeable

I don't have experience with the neptune apex, but have heard good things about them. I'm not sure on the probes. I do have experience with the reefkeeper lite. I had it on a 55 gallon and loved it. It does take a little time and reading the forum to get the handle on it but I feel it was worth the money. I would say determine what you want to do with this controller. I found that the addiction in this hobby caused me to upgrade my tank and guess what. I upgraded the controller to the Reefkeeper Elite. Also good thing about Digital Aquatics is they let you trade in the lite for credit toward Elite as your system grows. JMO.

I have an RKL and really like it. DA just released an upgraded firmware for the NET module that allows you to program it via the web which puts it back on par w/ the Apex. I too like the fact that I can upgrade to the RKE so I am not stuck the RKL when I progress past the RKL (which the big limitation is the 4 module limit).

I think you will find people on both sides of the fence when it comes to controllers. Much like a PC vs Mac thing.

For the probes, I know for PH you can use the DA, Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) or Pinpoint ones. I have heard the pinpoint are better quality than BRS. But you pay for that.
