If it is just spawning make sure you do a water change soon. I had a clam spawn in my 29gal and found out the hard way that all of that sperm and/or eggs break down very fast and can cause a nasty little algae bloom. I don't think you have all that much to worry about in a tank that size though.

Thanks to all for the quick responses.

    No casualties this morning.

That was certainly a weird thing and certainly the first I have seen that.

    Cheers

Glad to hear it!! My LTA did exactly what you described about a month ago. I had water issues with a fish that died and turned the water a little foul. So my situation it was water quality that was bothering the Nem. Carbon and water change has made him happy and eating again (now has two clownfish hosting)

    Update

    Well,
    This has now happened twice.
Come home today and what did I find ?????

I now have two GBT Anemones....
I guess it was spwnning / splitting.

I am hoping this is a good thing not a bad one..

Whats cool is now each clown has chosen one for the home.
    His and hers...

Oh, And I have caught the clowns mating, or dancing, who knows.. Maybe I will have guests...

    Cheers

I have heard a lot of theories on splitting, some say it's due to overfeeding, some say it's due to survival, some say it's because they're happy, some say it's because they're unhappy or dying and that goes with the whole "survival" theory, etc. Lots of opinions on why they do it.

Ultimately if your tank's params, stability, and lighting are good, you should be fine. If you are target feeding the nems you may want to cut back or not feed at all. There's many factors to consider but another nem is another "wanderer" so make sure to keep all intakes and powerheads covered or screened.

    Hmm, kinda open....
However, Params are good, stability is good, I target feed once a week with clam.
I have T5 not Halide and noticed since the beginning, the arms are longer than the pictures. You know, how they stretch for light. This would be the only problem I know of.

    Not sure though..

    cheers

Sounds like you should be ok, lots of people sell the splits off as not to worry about nems wandering around. I bought a tiny RBTA and in 20 days it split once, it has never split again for the past maybe 6 months. I think mine split because I was overfeeding it too much raw shrimp. Mine bubble up inconsistently and I have them under T5's also.

Let us know how it goes, I can only imagine your next thread "10 anemone splits HELP" :)
