    I have a friend that just about an hour ago gave me a butt load of LR. Problem is that some of it is actual ocean rock and some of it is DIY rock that he made from cement and crushed up LR. He said it had been in his tank for about 2 years and it does show that it had life on it. I've weeded out the ocean rock and have it in my tank cycling now. Do I want to put the DIY rock in there??? :confused::confused::confused:

    I would use it if I had to. It is live rock, but does not have the surface area that real live rock will have. Most likely heavier too.

    Sure why not, i know alot of people who use DIY rock.
