ASM G3 Experience?

    I am in the market for a new skimmer and think I may have found one. It is a used ASM G3 and the guy is asking $200 for it.

    First of all, has anyone had experience with this brand of skimmer? If so what pros or cons can you tell me about?

    Also, I bargained the guy down to $150 plus two old XBOX 360 games that I have laying around. Is this a good deal? I also have the opportunity to get a new one for $220 with no shipping, but the main reason I bargained him down was due to lack of cash. What should I do.

    Honestly for the extra 70 id go new all day, save up a little more its worth it for that small of a differnce! I have heard nothing but good things about these skimmers.

    If it is in good shape, I would not regret getting used in any way shape or form. Let someone else take the hit for used equipment if you can.

    The g3 is a great skimmer, how big is your tank?

    It is a 120 Gallon 5 ft long tank.

    I'm using the G2 on a 90g with a 24g sump and it works great, G3 is the same just a little bigger body/pump really the only thing on these that ever fails is the sedra pumps and even their pretty reliable

    i have a g2 on my 120 and it works great, i just picked up a g3 on cl for $75.
    $150 isn't a great deal imo but it's cheaper than a new one.
