ASM G3 recirc mod

looking for some pics or info relating to this,can anyone help?

 

I bought mine with it already done, it doesn't look all that difficult just 2 holes that need drilling and a bulkhead. There is a bunch of how-to's around all over google have you checked there?

how big of a difference do recirculating skimmers make I have never used one

 

word around the campfire,they clean the water a little better than normal skimmers.I saw a build with lots of pics a long time ago ......dont know where I saw it though.I went on gooogle and ckecked it out but couldnt find it.

 

My skimmer is an ASD recirc gate valve model. I like it, but you need another pump or similar way to introduce water to the skimmer. The recirc pump only recircs what is in the skimmer.

My friend has an ASM g3 or is it a g4 that is a std one with the gate valve mod. it's hard to say which works better, and hard to compare since we have different brands.

 

I feed mine off my return pump. Used to have it hooked straight to an overflow but the foam head was a little inconsistent. My g3 is drilled for 2 sedra 5000's, but 1 side is capped off, I cant wait to see this thing skim with 2 mesh modded recirculating pumps hooked up.

never thought about adding another pump..interesting..what are your thoughts on these skimmers?I think theyre alright,in fact not bad at all...still thinking of 2 pumps
