Just a quick question on ASM skimmer. I am curious what the difference is between the ASM1,2,3,&4 skimmers. Size, Height, Pumps, etc....... I have an ASM1 on a 120 and would like to upgrade. But if I can just ad a larger pump that would be nice. It has the Sedra 3500 on it but I have to restrict the flow to get the foam to the top. Cant I get a larger pump and use less restriction? Just curious as to what others think before I buy a $100 plus pump with no better results.

    Thanks

The difference as far as I can tell is that they are rated in terms of tank size
the units vary in height as far as I can tell, but each model is supplied with a Sedra pump

I borrowed this from a vendors site

Model Gallon Rating No. of Pumps Tubing Diameter Footprint Height
    Mini-G 75 1- Mini Pump 4.5" 5.5"x11.5" 16.5"
    G-1 100 1 - G-500 5.5" 8.5x10" 19"
    G-1X 150 1 - Sedra 3500 5.5" 8.5x11" 22.5"
    G-2 200 1 - Sedra 3500 6.5" 10x11" 25"
    G-3 250 1 - Sedra 5000 6.5" 11x12" 24"
    G-4 350 1 - Sedra 5000 8.5" 11.5x16" 24"

as you can see the pump is the same on the 1 and 2 and then increases in size for the 3 and 4
