i'm think about getting some astrea snails tomorrow. i've read that they can't self right. is this true? for tose who have them, how often do they flip over or fall? it would be kinda annoying to constantly have to put your hands in the tank.
how good are they are eating diatoms?

dude not many snails can right themselves. and it isnt often that they fall and become exposed. ive had my tank for 2 years and only helped a snail once. im pretty sure that was due to a scarlet hermit trying to rob its shell.

They are great cleaners, but can't right themselves if they flip over or fall on SAND. They are reef-associated grazers, and do fine if they are kept in an environment similar to their natural environment.

    Cheers,
