Does anyone else use Tom's Aqualifter for their ATO? How does it work for you? What other pumps are good for ATO? I've gone through 2 Aqualifters in 1 month...and I even bought the "pre-filter" accessory for the second one. Are they normally pieces of junk or did I seem to find 2 bad apples?

mine always worked fine but i got tired of filling up my top off bucket. So I plumbed my ro system directly into my sump.

you can use almost any pump. i was using a aqua clear power head (the smallest they had at the store i believe it was about 20 dollars) before i switched to the tom's aqualifter. i have only had the aqualifter about a month. but so far so good. i switched because im dosing kalk with my ato now, and wanted a very very slow pump. but if i have a problem with the aqua lifter i will just switch back to the powerhead and turn the pressure down on it to its lowest setting. the aqua clear has a setting on the side to turn down the water gph its sending out.

No problems with mine and have been using it everyday for at least 2 years. Only problem I had was after awhile one of the lines cracked at the nozzle of the pump and it was leaking. I thought it was the pump but nope. Just cut an inch off the line and reinstalled, works like a charm

Plumbing your RO directly into your tank is dangerous.

Why not just plumb it into the top off bucket?

mine works well i use the float switches from autotopoff.com but from here on out ill make my own not that i have a problem with mine just would be cheaper and i can make it costom for my aplication

i worry about anything faster splashing messing with float switches but if you filled a diffrent chamber it would be ok i guess
