So I have a Tom aqua lifter that doesn't put enough water into the sump to keep up with evaporation rate, the ato times out even though it's increased as long as it can operate.

I am looking for a dosing pump or a power head that I can run from my RODI storage tank to my sump ( about 12 feet away) the auto top off controller is at the sump so I need to install the pump at that location.

Looking for advice guys on what pump to use.

I used a MJ 1200 to push mine. but was only a couple of feet. I would imagine that as long as its not 12 feet straight up that it might work. I also have had good luck with aqueaon pumps. Cheap and reliable and always available at petsmart.

Avast Marine also sells an ato dosing pump that is capable of pushing that far without a flow rate loss and is the one I currently use on my tank. I believe the flow rate is listed on their website, it is louder than the aqua lifter but I would recommend it.

The aqua lifter is what I use. However, it operates a little slowly

Slowly wouldn't bother me too much, except it times out after the 14 mins ? And then I end up sucking air for a few hours until someone notices.

Is it possible I have damaged this little pump ? I once ran salt water through it at a very high concentrate, but have been running plain water through it for almost 3 weeks since then so I am not sure.

The 1200 powerheads .............. Where would this be placed ? In the RODI tank (push water) or in the sump (pull water) ?

i cant really push, as the ato is at the sump, as is the sensor, is there a sensor extension wire ? (12 feet) that i can then have the ATO at the RODI barrel, or am I going to have to add an extension cord to allow the pump to be plugged in at the sump with the ATO ?

i could do that for sure, i was trying to do this safely.

Does the 1/4 airline tubing fit on a MJ1200 or 600, or would i need to replace the whole tubing ?
