in regards to enviromental bacterias:

on a system with the correct balanced nsw readings for Ca, Mg, dkH, and so on. and close to zero on other elements i.e. NO3, NO4, PO4 and so on

what are the beneficial and detrimental bacterias that are in a reef system?

 

WOW. not sure if I could answer this or anyone really. I guess the question is in a healthy reef what is the bacteria load?

wouldnt the bacteria load be zero?
what elements make a bacteria/bioload if not mentioned from above?

 

I would expect that with an absolute zero level of Ammonia to convert, there would be no Bacteria. but that would mean there was no fish or anything that would produce waste.

 

we have fish in our reef systems and NH3,4 at zero with bacteria.

what is the bacteria?

there are bags of sand that are for sale with beneficial bacteria. sugar feeds good/bad bacteria.

First the first major aerobic bacterias are as follows ammonia is converted to nitrites by nitrosomonas this compound is still toxic. Next, nitrites are converted into or to nitrates by nitrobacters & nitrospira . Nitrates are much less toxic compared to ammonia and nitrite. In an environment with a healthy colony of these nitrifying bacteria, ammonia and nitrites will reach 0. But it is the nitrobacterers & the nitrosipras that you are dealing with for Nitrates ?
Then you have the anaerobic bacteria that live in the rocks and coil denitraters Thats a different animal all together.

But to add to what Jason mentioned I see no way in hell one could really say what all of any bacteria in in an entire system and how many of each ? Like i Humans they are good and bad bacteria at play all the time and on how many anyone has at any given point ?? Who could say unless they are trying to specifically locate and identify that certian bacterium ?

 

this has nothing to do with the ?, with the exception of the word bacteria, no offense. so what is the bacteria?
