    I've had problems with keeping zoas and always wondered why. finally i have found the culprit. ASTERINA STARS. not just any but red backed ones. now many say these are rare in the industry, just my luck...

    anywho im sucking them out with a turkey baster as i find them.

    I hate asterinas good or bad ones. ugh!:angry::angry:

    so here is a shot of the bugger in action

    thats just nasty nu. sorry you had to get stuck with a bad one. how many legs did it have? ive heard the even numbered legged ones are potentially bad , also the bluish-green are too. now i know the reddish variety are bad.

    well i never even thought of counting legs. but looking at the dried up ones in my wet bar sink.... actually here's a pic

    both are red. the whiter one is the one from previous pics, and the other was found yesterday

    left has 7 lines coming from the center and the other has 6....???

    you know what, i actually have. And my lfs has them on occasion. but its kinda hit or miss, and if its a miss then i would need to purchase some linkinia(sp??). and if ido go that route i fear that it may pollute my lillte tank.

    such a dillema. because i love harlequin shrimps.

    yeah i think manual removal is best and safest. but when you think you got em all.... one little guy pops up and then another.:angry:
