Is this an Aiptasia anemone? If so, I've heard they are bad, so what do you do to get rid of them?

1 of them isnt going to hurt your tank. that being sad if you really want to get rid of it there are many different options. Easiest way is simply buy a peppermint shrimp, they eat aipstasa anemone. Or you can go out buy a syringe and some joe's juice and poke the anemone in the middle of it and kill inject the joe's juice in it and kill it ( you can also you lemon juice) or if there if no coral or anything living on or in the rock, simply remove the rock and put it in fresh water for a few minutes and then put it back in your tank and if should be dead.

I would try to kill it soon before it can multiply.I have had success with Aiptasia-X.

Until it multiplies and you have 45,000. Use the google search bar at the top of the site to find ways to get rid of aiptasia, find which one you like best.

My personal favorite is putting reef epoxy over its hole, or remove the rock, and chisel the surrounding rock off and just throw away the remaining rock that had aiptasia on it. HTH

i have had success killing smaller specimens with pure lemon juice and a syringe. cost effective and you wont need a new critter in your tank.

for larger specimens i have had success with peppermints as suggested, unfortunately they tend to fall to predation to my toby and haven't kept one since.

the notion that if you have one you will 50'000 i dont forcibly agree with. i have one fairly large glass anemone that has not spread, with this being said i do also have a CBB who might feed on the smaller ones though i have never seen him gobble one up.

so to resume.... i would try injecting pure lemon, should that fail then get a peppermint shrimp (make sure you do your HW and make sure you are able to distinguish a peppermint Lysmata wurdemanni at the LFS)

dont be tempted by a CBB they are very delicate, took me close to week and a thousand prayers to get mine to eat the fish food i make.
