ballast for my oddysea

    I have a 48 inch oddysea fixture and my ballast burnt up today. i wanted to know if the Blue Wave 7 Ballast Dual 250W is any good and what kind of double ended bulbs are good and cheep.

    icecap ballasts are direct plug in units for odyssea. I heard they up your light output a ton too.

    That's true for the newer Odyssea. If it's an older Odyssea it may not just plug in.
    How old is the light system and what wattage bulbs were you using?
    Got any pics of the connectors?

    i bought the unit about 8 months ago and the bulbs are 250w

    I have a 48" with 250 MH and use Ice cap ballasts and theyre direct fit.

    Doesn't look like it's an electronic ballast though. Probably would go with the Galaxy version or an Icecap instead.

    Also, why get a dual ballast? If one blows you've got to replace the whole thing, no?
