Base Rock and cycle

    If i were to add in base rock (well rock that was in my tank until algea started to take over) will it start another mini cycle?

    How long has the tank been running that your putting this rock in? Plus what size tank is it?

    The tanks been running for around 9 months and total Vol. is around 100-110 gal. and theres probably 20-35 lbs of rock that i would like to put back in.

    I have done this before. You will probably see a small spike in nitrites.

    Shouldn't be a big cycle at all, probably won't even notice it.

    Thats what i figured i would do. Just add 2 or 3 pieces at a time.
