OK, so after researching this fish, I have decided that I need at least one. I have read on some sites that they need minimum 50 gal aquarium, and others say 100 gal. most sights are pretty close on max size of 7". I would just like your guys input on if you think I could get two as I would really like to get a pair. I have a 90 gal with about 30 gal sump and about 150 pounds(+0r-) live rock.Right now I don't run a skimmer, but that can be easily added if need be. Livestock includes 5" foxface, 2" maroon clown, and a school of 7 green chromis all about 1".

    thanks for any input

    Dan

That would be really cool, and from what Ive read, you can do that with this particular fish, but I know for sure that my tank is not big enough for that.

    bump

any and all opinions wanted as if you think my tank can support 2 of these fish. maybe I should add a pole(just don't know how)

    1. tank not even big enough for 1 bellus

    2. just get 1 and be happy

    3. should be fine with a pair

    4. get a male and 3 females and save your money for a 500gal in a year or two.(this option isn't going to happen, but I bet it gets most votes;D)

I did look on Live Aquaria, and it says the bellus angel is best kept in a pair or small harem.

Haha yeah, I don't think a 90 would be big enough for a harem anyway...even though it would look cool!! But a mated pair would be sweet.

Since you've brought up this angel I've been doing some research and I'm thinking about maybe getting a pair for my 90!!

that would be sweet, I don't know if I like the male or female better, their both beautiful. just not sure if two would outgrow the 90. but I am leaning towards trying it.

Yeah, I would be worried about not getting two, since the info says they do better in pairs....so two would be ideal, but I don't know about the size either.

I saw one place that said Min. tank size of 50gal, another place said 120. so I'm guessing a 90 is about in the middle and I should be all right. Worse that could happen is they out grow the tank, I get attached to them, and have to upgrade, costing me a small fortune. not really a downside is there.
