best hob skimmer

    I need some suggestions on which skimmer to get for my 55. It has to be a hang on back. I'm stuck between a reef octopus or a tunze doc 9004. Eshopps seems pretty good to. The reef octopus model is similar to a bak pak skimmer. Any help is appreciated.

    I'm a huge fan of reef octopus. I don't think you could go wrong. I've had my insump skimmer for about 5 years and have only replaced the impeller.

    How about the reef octopus bh100ss? I also read good reviews on the coral life 65 with the needle wheel.

    I just purchased the BH1000 from BRS this week.. I installed it Monday and I am not kidding that thing had some skimmate in it before I was finished setting it up! AWESOME..

    BRS has free shipping and I deal with them alot, customer service is unmatched.

    If you do go with this one, yes the instructions are worthless, but there are lots of youtube vids out there that will walk you through the setup.

    I have a 28 Nano, this skimmer fits nice and I have had a Tunz, what I love about the RO HOB is that you don't have to mess with the water level no matter where your tank water is the level in the skimmer is constant you just adjust the skimmer collection cup and let it go!

    For under $200.00 it really can't be beat IMO
