I am in the market for some additional LED fixtures. Below is a picture of the 2 I have now. I have been nothing but happy with them but due to the fact that I have a 144 gallon 1/2 cirle shaped tank, I have been using compact florecents to fill in the areas my existing LED's cant reach.

Any suggestions on where or what to buy??

THe one I have now are from someone locally here is albuquerque. The are roughly 12" long and 5" wide and I paid in the neighborhood of 700 for each...

It's very new technology. Not many people are using it yet. Some, such as myself are just getting into it. I am going with Boost LED

The boost is just the screw in type lamps?

I guess I was talking about fixtures similar to what I have in the pic?

Yes, but is in form of a bulb.

I know you are looking for an LED fixture. My point was just that I don't know many people who're using LED at all. Well, aside from supplementation.

I would think they would be much more popular. I have been very happy with the results I have had and most of all the low maintenance of such! All my SPS so far grow very fast and look to be happier than they were under my VHO's

Oh I'm sure it's great. I think people are reluctant to try out the new lighting, due to $$$ & maybe just because they've been so reliant on T5/MH for so long...

You have to remember that good led fixtures cost a lot of money. Not everyone can afford switching to them. Others may want to wait until leds are proven to work well long term before spending a lot on moving to them.

It's not more than MH if you look at all the cost - fixture, bulbs, electricity, cooling ect...

I have found, after 8 years in the hobby, if you fork up the $ up front for the better product that it more than pays for itself in the long run!

I understand...as for short term, I have had mine for over a year now and as I said, my corals look healthier than they did under my 600W VHO (after they recovered from the massive bleaching the first 2 months)
