Ive seen a few posts today about people putting new fish into tanks and there getting hammerd. Then when you read down they say they have a couple of damsels in there.. Damsel should in my opinion never go in your tank. Newbies get tricked into using them because they are very hardy. They are also very hard to catch :) i myself learned the hard way.. SO if you have a damsel in your tank follow the these instructions
    1. grab your net
    2. catch your damsel/s
    3.open the window
4.Throw them as far as you can and smile
5.Go to your lfs and punch them for not informing you that they are horrible evil little peices of work..

Some people actually like their damsels. I have one yellow tail and he's alright in my tank.

But many people hate them and have trouble getting them out once the tank is cycled and setup. There are many other things to cycle your tank with besides damsels...a piece of shrimp works great!

I have a YT damsel in my tank and I bought it specifically because I love their coloration. Mine is actually the one most picked on in my tank. Damsels do get a bad rap but I think it's mainly because they are first in the tank, establish their territory, and will defend it with their lives.

I was one of those people tricked into getting a damsel to cycle. Luckily for me it died and I cycled the right way and never got another one. Thank God.

I traded in my blue fin demsel for 6$ store credit, funny thing is they cost 6$ in the store, so I guess no profit or whatever. I bought 1 chromis after I got my 6$ credit.

So you could trade in your demsel for store credit instead of throwing out your money out of window x]
But yes they are hard to catch, my blue fin demsel was pain in the butt. What I did is, I put in some fish flake in the tank, and when the demsel got out to the open to eat, I swinged the net fast and catched it.

Damsels are are no-no for me.... after my first tank and the experience with it, I decided to cycle with a green chromi. Those guys are just little devils and will pick on any fish that you add (especially the black ones).
