Big white crab

I'll upload a pic as soon as i can get a good picture of him.

Description until i get a pic:
-White body with black stripes on legs.
-body is about 1.5-2in wide and 1in long.
-It looks similar to an emerald crab but white and much larger than any emerald i ever put in the tank.
-he is creepy.

May explain the dead crab bodies i see from time to time too.

 

Those are probably molts.

 

yea it looks pretty close to molts but still looks a lil different uploading as i type.

i will be interested to see if anyone id's because i found the same crab except that he was small. i moved him to my fuge.

 

i may try to do the same thing but to be honest im a tad bit afraid of him. his arms are a good 1.5' long

The pics dont to it justice on how big his body is when he is walking around.

 

You've got yourself a bruiser... It's a stone crab of some sort and you should get rid of it, keep it in a sump or isolate it in a single specimen setup.
It will kill and eat shrimp, clams, fish and probably anything it can smash will those very strong claws.

 

Thank you thank you THATS IT!! I will rain down on him with armor gloves. Wont kill the guy tho ill just put em in my sump that has some LR and junk in it.

thanks all for the help! i had just placed a zoa frag on a rock and about 2 min ladder it tipped over. I went to look and i see this big guy pushing it over with his huge claws. Guess he didnt like where i put it

wow, that is huge. i would be afraid to tangle with him too. how did he end up in your tank?

 

He is a tab creepy looking, and appears to follow the camera with his eye in each picture. I would call him Grimace. ;D
