Biggest Goldfish?

Hello guys, is this the biggest goldfish breed? I just want to confirm this if it is really true.

I really want to breed big goldfish.

Koi or Koi Carp are a member of the Carp Family and common and mirror Carp ( the ancestors of the fancy carp) can grow to over 50Lb in the UK and in France fish over 80lb have been caught

In the UK 20lb plus Koi carp are also caught
my PB on Koi carp is only 7lb, but thats still a nice fish and a great surprise when it hit the surface

That is a koi carp, not really considered a goldfish.

The comet is the largest breed of goldfish.

 

Its orange/gold and its a fish so its a GOLDFISH! LOL, but its not a true goldfish. It is a KOI, you can tell this by the Barbel's on the bottom of the mouth. True KOI have them and goldfish do not.

I have seen KOI that large in Lake Michigan, at the marina that my parents kept their boats in. Some one let them go it there year ago, and we pulled a dead one out that weighed at least 25 or 30 LBS.

And to be honest with you, all goldfish are descended from Carp, the Prussian carp, Silver Prussian carp to be exact, which goldfish were bred from in China. The Comet is commonly held as the largest, which can reach a length of 14 to 16 inches.

 

the largest is either the classic or comet, a Comet is mostly fins tho.


a koi isn't a goldfish incase you were wondering.
