I'm interested in upgrading, or modding, my biocube stock lighting. The HQI lighting seems perfect with it's 150 W light, as I want to start to have hard corals. But, alas, they don't just sell the HQI hood. :( I don't want to have to pay $300 for a whole new tank, and go through the whole cycling process again... Does anyone have any solutions to having hard corals in a Biocube. I'm most looking forward to having Open Brain Corals, but I don't think the stock lighting is strong enough.
    Thanks in advance. :D

Shouldn't have to cycle again if you are changing tanks LR, Substrate and all..

Not sure can help much besides that..

Thanks for the quick reply. :) the live rock I have has cycled for over 12 years. I mean all the good stuff in the jilted, on the tanks back wall, and just the water itself. I suppose starting fresh wouldn't be a bad idea, I'd get to fix all the problems from the last tank. :D

Thanks for the suggestion. Oddly though, I can't find anything to do with a lighting fixture on there.

Click on DIY lighting. The first listing was a 150 MH retrofit. They don't have hoods. It is a DIY site.
