So i have the intank media basket and fuge. but am strongly considering reactors for GFO and Carbon. just because i feel like you can not go wrong with a big of over filtration and since i am scared to death of putting a sump on this thing thought it might be a good side option. but given the size of reactors vs the water volume wondering if one its worth it and two if its over kill. All my levels are being kept in check. and having the fuge light on opposite lighting schedule as the main lights plus kalk in the ato has killed the day night ph drop drastically just as a side note.

The old addage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies well, here. Yes, you can over-filter your water. Many tanks have crashed with bleached and dead corals from adding media reactors to an existing system. It can be done, but the media must be added very slowly and in small increments. IMHO though, it's not worth it if you're not having nutrient issues. I'd suggest that you just keep up with the maintenance of your existing filtration.

i just like the idea of having more control over filtration. since the carbon goes bad faster then then GFO in chemi-pure elite. and since i dont trust the changing it every 6 months bs rather change out a little bit of carbon every two weeks. but i may just be getting crazy

I go all natural.. Let biological filtration do its work.
