Hi everyone. I have a biowheel type HOB filter, and want to know if there is any way to turn this into a berlin type system. It is on a dresser so I have no space under the tank and everything has to be hang on. How about a HOB refugiam type system?

The Berlin method incorporates, a deep sand bed, intense waterflow, strong iradiance regarding lighting and a protein skimmer!!! That is basically it in a nut shell!
In my opinion, don't use the HOB and invest in a protein skimmer!!!!include a refugium as an added available filter source by housing macroalgae. Also increases water flow and water volume!!! Possible food source raising, and safe haven for baby to juvenille inverts or fish!
