FIRST OF ALL WELCOME TO 3REEF! I'm not to familiar with Biozyme. I have always used live rock and live sand to go through the cycle with a few colorful damsels. However the problem with the damsels is that if you have a lot of live rock and want to eventually get rid of the damsels, you will have a heck of a time doing so. Damsels can be very territorial and aggressive towards everything from blennies to Xenia.
    Good luck with your tank!
Let us know how you make out. Also, let us know about your tank, equipment and inhabitants.....................

i first treid bio zyme when i set up my first 39 gallon tank i think it actually messed up the cycle and didnt really help id just let the cycle go naturally. to help kick start your cycle throw some peel and eat shrimp in there or some frozen krill that will give it a good jumpstart

Bio-zyme has been around for a long time...at least 15 years. By and large I have found it to be totally ineffective. I would pass on it if I were you. It does not help, and according to the last post, it may even hurt.

There is only one way to cycle a tank, 1 fish and time. Hope that helps.

You can cycle a tank with ammonia or dead marine animal.
You do NOT have to use a fish.
    Sorry about the thread hijacking.

Tropical Science's NitroMax worked wonders for me. Try it!

You could, but the fish is better.

The advice I give is what I use, tried and true.

    Hijacking? Whats that :)

I used bio-zyme for my freshwater tanks but found that it didnt really work to well. It's been around for so long so maybe it should work. Ive never used it in a marine tank before. I would try to cycle with live rock, worked out great for me.
