So I finally have my tank on the way. It will be here tomorrow. 210 gal aquion 2 offset center overflows. Going reef. All of my other equipment Is coming form Jonathan at Reefwerks who I can only say good things about. He deals with Bashsea. Anyway my LFS was talking to me about sand options. I am painting the back of the tank Black. He suggested black sand. Any thoughts? I never heard of black sand for a reeftank. How would that look with black back round and black sand and leds. My initial thought was white sand would pop more with the black back round. Oh I should mention that my stand will be black oak. Any thoughts and what is this black sand? LFS also mentions that black sand would show less algae.

I had Tahitian Moon in my first tank, it was magnetic. Black shows every little spec of detritus and chip of rock on it. Mine was no longer pure black after a month or two. It's all personal preference, though.

yeah just need a good cuc I see that it is magnetic, and am reading up on it more now lol, so far no one is reporting any problems aside from it sticking to the magnetic cleaner

Yeah, clean up crew won't matter. I had a sand sifting goby in mine & it was still dirty looking. The salt & pepper looks great, though.
