I know a diver from Hawaii well, know him third hand... Many times he can sell fish at obscenely low prices like flame wrasse trios.. He was selling the trios shipped for far less than I could wholesale buy one male.

He also sells flame angels for like $15.. That said getting them flown in manytimes outweighs the deal. You are telling me after shipping you can still get a black for 29.95? If so call me and my store will buy 15 of them.

Fish many times are cheap, shipping on the other hand is not.
Look at Gemmatus tangs, where they are caught off the eastern coast of Africa they are a dime a dozen. BUT you factor in shipping to Europe re oxygenating then shipping to the US you see them for $2500 or more...

If the deal is true, get rid of the yellow and then get the black. Or heck get resell the black and get some $$

Edit* Are you sure its not an adult Scopas, they tend to turn almost black when adults?

That would be pretty funny if it was just a dark or stressed scopas, and the price tag sure would fit. I cant wait to see pics of this thing.

Not to pee in the punch bowl, but what's all the fuss about a black tang? It's just a tang, that's black. Hell, IMO a healthy powder brown under good lights is way cooler looking.

Well I have a place in hawaii and friends that dive there and I cant get that deal. if its for real I would tank it. I have had 2 black tangs now and have got great deals but 30 bucks ummmmmm maybe a mimic black tang. the demand is way to high for this fish for any sober person to sell them for less then 200. The black tang also does not come from hawaii it comes from christmas island...... And they have limited quanity and can only send so many a month. divers from hawaii can get them yes but not for 30 bucks and its not likely that its a real black tang from hawaii???
