Last update for the day. :D Tomorrow there should be more, but nothing on this level.

DONE! I think the arches compliment each other quite well. They come back tomorrow to clean everything up.

Great setup so far. I didn't get a chance to read your entire thread, if you haven't already planned it into your design, definitely put an exhaust fan in your tank room. One of the problems I have with my tank being built into the wall in my basement, is that I can't access anything from the front. As corals grow and I have to frag the tank or move things around, I'm always breaking something by accident because I can't see well from the top of the tank. You might end up dealing with similar issues down the road. good luck with the build.

Post #17 - Exhaust fan (GE 120cfm) with Dehumidistat

I've thought about front access and actually had an in wall system once before from which I had front access but continued to work from behind the tank anyway. So, I wanted a clean, cabinet free look this time and I think it came out great.

The mp60s aren't that big, but they are retarded powerful. Much more so than people on the forums seem to act. I have them on a notch above min and am still getting ridiculous amounts of flow (can't keep sand where I want it!)

My build thread is here. I wish I had a more built in look like yours. I love the size, but it is a bit ominous in my living room!

Are the dimensions of your tank 72x24x29? Also, what's your lighting plan? (sorry if you posted it, I missed seeing it)

Yes, those are the dimensions of the tank. I plan to run 3x400w MH under Lumenbright mini reflectors. I doubt I use much supplemental lighting unless I hate the color of the MH bulbs and need something. Thoughts?

Have you considered LEDs? I went with it to avoid the heat/humidity issues. MH is proven, and that setup will definitely grow some awesome coral!

I think LED has come far enough now to do some research though. Eliminates the need for as much ventilation, a chiller, and uses way less electricity, as well as 10 year bulb life and doesn't heat the house.

I second this. I changed over to LEDs and have noticed a substantial decrease in my power bill. I don't need to run fans anymore(less noise), my water top offs have been cut in half, and my peace of mind is through the roof! ;D
