Oh, I agree & understand the benefits of LEDS, but the initial setup costs usually exceed the initial costs of MH and when setting the tank up, I want something proven and a little less expensive. I can always change out lighting later. I can purchase DIY ballasts for about $40 each and MH bulbs for less than $20. So, for about $200 I can get 3x400W MH setup and there is NO way I could do that with LEDs, so I'll see what kind of heat and humidity issues I get from my initial plan and make changes as needed.

Plus reflectors and the chiller! Unless you already have them. For me the chiller and the ventilation was the game breaker. By them time I added it up I only had to spend $400 or so more on LEDs. If I was a diy type I could have actually saved money. (or burned my house down... more likely had done it myself lol)

Either way, this is going to be an awesome build!!

At the rate he's been going, it should be done and have livestock....maybe a 3ft. shark by now. Pregnant, even.

I got the RODI about 90% setup. I need to run by Lowe's and pick up a small male/male adapter to connect the two DI canisters as well as install the float valve.

I also have about 120lbs of BRS Fiji that I plan to begin cycling in a trashcan. I will be ordering another 100lbs to add in a second trashcan.

I will be making pillars/columns of varying height out of the rock by drilling it and placing atop PVC piping. Once installed, I will lay secondary pieces at the base of the pillars and as needed.
