Great to see your pics restored Bloke. Now for that aquascape - that looks stacked! I think I saw something similar in the desert of New Mexico. :) How about some arches? What kind of rock is that? It looks really dense.

I think the same thing, Matt. New Mexico...I actually laughed out loud on that one. The rock is all Fiji and my hope is that as I fill in the rock with coral and as things purple up that the look dissapates a little. I Am not the biggest fan of arches since I've not seen too much of that when looking under the sea, and while I don't see many stacks either, I do see rocks of varying height which is what I am after. I also would like to have the space between the two sides of the tank.

I plan to move things a little more to create some more depth to the scape, but I think it has been the eternal problem with Fiji rock to avoid the "stacked apples" appearance. By the way, every rock in this system is volleyball to basketball size. In fact, a few of the rocks are larger than that. :-/

I'll keep working with it and try to create something else a little more visually sppealing. Thanks for the honesty - that's what I was after. Of course, it now means I have to searched for images of your system to see what you came up with for ideas to copy! :)

I tweaked the aquascaping just a little. Here are closeups of the two sides of the rock. There is an additional 75lbs of rock in the sump for a total rock weight close to 250lbs.

That is tough working with such big rock. I like your latest version much better. The right side is still a bit stacked to me. I'd take that top right on the far right and connect those 2 stacks with it. That said - looking at your basement pic - the amount of work you have done is amazing. I am loving this.

Thanks, Matt! I have been trying to work with the right side of the tank by rotating some of the pieces but keeping the PVC hidden. It's not as easy as it might sound. I do want to keep a separation of the peaks of the rock, but adding a few smaller pieces of LR to the right side might close in the height of the extreme right taking away some of the "stacked" look and I'll give it a try.

Thanks for always being honest. :)

Awesome rock work!! Bigger rocks make for less chances of an avalanche, i basically have three rocks each weighing about 12 lbs, and a few smaller rocks that bridge the gaps

maybe on the stacks in pic 2, place two small rocks under each base big rock, angling the entire stack thus giving more water flow under and around the rocks as well as more places for pods and cool critters to hide

    :) No problem.
I totally forgot about the PVC - that does make it a bit harder. Adding to the right side might even it out. Good luck
