    hi guys and girls,

im hoping someone could maybe send me a good link/inform me about a "friends" recent purchase, a blue cheek goby.

(my friend happens to be my in laws who insist on impulse buying, gggrrrrr
   )
ive heard of them before but am not to knowledgeable but hope someone is!!!!

its been ok in there tank, but im not sure for how long......they have a 94 litre tank and already have a mandarin, 2xclowns,cleaner wrasse, coral goby, and a watchman goby (which is where they might clash??)...its up to them what they buy but surely thats overstocked??

anyway, ive heard only good stuff about the blue cheek, but we all know how badly overcrowding affects us,lol.....

many thanks and i do appreciate the advise....::)

I can tell you that a mandarin in a 24 gallon tank isn't going to end well. There's not enough food for it in the long term. Possibly the same goes for the cleaner wrasse. You've got a few fish that need to eat a whole lot, but not the water volume to do it easily.

The blue cheek (sleeper gold head is the typical common name here in the US) is, IMO, probably fine with the clown goby, and fairly likely to fight with the watchman goby. They occupy the same niche, and this isn't a big tank where they could have their own territories.

hey thanks for the info, it was bad enough when i found out they got a mandarin(not just because i told them i fancied one and next day they bought it) but also because i did advisethem about the lack of food. i think they got it not just because i wanted one but they had an outbreak of rust flat worms which mandarin love to eat,but low and behold they have now all gone!!!

i only really asked this post/question because i did think the bottom "surface" area of the tank didn"t seem big enough for a watchman and another burrowing goby!!. my in laws havn"t said yet that there bickering but im wondering if there refraining from telling!!!!

    thanks again for the help....

all the best from over the other side of the pond!!!;D
