blue legged hermit

    I had 2 blue legged hermits in my tank. One is still alive and kicking. the other one died. Not sure why.

    One day, I saw him out of the shell (dead). Any idea why it will come out of its shell and/or just died? the other one is still alive.

    Maybe he is not dead , a molted hermit crab looks just like a dead one. Wait a few days before you have the funeral.

    it was out in the opening for 2 days. Started to go bad, so I eventually took it out. I thought it was molting as well.. =( How long do they molt for?
    If the other guy killed him, how come he didn't take the shell? they do that anyway for the heck of it?

    I saw one of my BLHC on the bottom of the tank 3days after I brought him home in a gang of 4 I guessed he had died but I never saw his shell and time passed and one day I saw all four again roaming the rocks. :)
